I had the privilege of staying at Lutsen Lodge in September of 2023 for Jackson & Nina’s north shore wedding. It’s almost unfathomable that the recent fire is but the third fire to claim this lodge in 75 years. My updated, but quaint little room and breakfast table overlooking Lake Superior is now completely gone and turned to ash…a reminder that what we think of as stable, secure, safe and always existing can be taken and removed from us at a moments notice. It’s incredibly humbling and reminds me to revisit and more deeply observe and appreciate the tangible around me. Thankfully, not a single person was injured in this recent fire.
